In SoCal particularly...
Anaheim Hills or Yorba Linda are both great places to live and have good neighbors. Climate is usually about 75 to 85 during the summer months and 65 to 75 during the winter. There will be some rainy days where it creeps into the 50's and stays there, but they are like 5 to 10 days of the entire year.
Moving towards the coast you can get a good place in San Clemente, Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, San Diego, or Fallbrook. Towards the coast you will see a few more of the colder days during the winter, but the summer days won't be so hot either.
Nights towards the coast can get chilly though... But then the same can be said about anywhere at night in January. It is kind of the point of it being January. Main thing is it won't be 50 very much during the day time and it won't snow.
