Season finale was not the best espisode of the series, thats for sure. I found it pretty boring at times and was surfing internet during parts of it.
And how come so many people call it unexpected? Most probable and "safe"-boring way to end a show. At least more expected than all the bullshit in prediction thread about Junior or Skylar being killed etc
About the money - do you think it would make any sense that gray matter would give 10 million dollars to Junior? Walt explained that it may be justified for public because they already donated to meth charity, but thats completely different thing. Why would they donate 10 million to son of king pin? That would be unexplainable.
Smarter move would have been - Walt asks them to pay for school (like grant some special scholarship or whatever), then hire him in a good position in Gray matter and Junior would be set for life.
