It's easy to say pass a bill making guns illegal. Then what? Wait while a small percentage of honest law abiding citizens turn their guns in? How do you get the rest? Door to door searches? Vehicle searches? Sidewalk searches? Guess how that's going to end especially in rural areas.

I can guarantee the gun used in the shooting wouldn't have been turned in.

The problem is in the shooter. This being south side Chicago the problem is obvious. Massive unemployment among young men, no hope for jobs, gang activity and drugs. Those problems are what need fixed, guns are just an easy target and take focus off the real issues.
