And don't forget that IF people just rolled over and allowed things they considered to be wrong to remain, history would be a lot different. We'd still have slavery for instance.
Or how about the repeal of Prohibition?
When Prohibition was passed...one of it's leading supporters made this comment:
"There is as much chance of repealing the Eighteenth Amendment as there is for a hummingbird to fly to the planet Mars with the Washington Monument tied to its tail"
Well, it took some stubborn Congressmen 13 years and a lot of angry citizens protesting for years...but it WAS repealed.
So no, I don't think that continuing to battle against a program that you genuinely believe is no good is at all a wasted motion.
The Democrat party sure wants people to believe that.
But in reality, they are kind of doing exactly what the opposition party in our form of govt. is supposed to do.
