I have been using unix for over twenty years at my old job and this past year been playing with different linux distros, I first used Fedora but I felt the latest version is a little bloated trying to be a desktop replacement like Ubuntu. I installed Debian in July and I'm in love with it, it has just the simple Gnome desktop and I prefer doing everything at the command line anyways. This past weekend I downloaded CentOS and playing with it now, and its very similar to Fedora/Red Hat. Linux has come a long way in the last few years, when I first started using it in the late nineties it took days just to get a server up and running! If your looking for serious work as a Linux sysadmin like I am it looks like either CentOS or Debian is the way to go these days.
