Accurate indirect fire requires the elevation of the firing platform, the elevation of the target, direction to the target from the firing platform, temperature, humidity, wind direction, and most importantly, a good forward observer.
A really good forward observer can get rounds on target in 2 shots. A first shot to see where the incoming round lands, then one for "adjust" to make corrections and verify it lands within effective range of the munitions... and then the real shit... called "fire for effect" when aiming is verified to be on target and its time to fuck shit up.
But fuckit these days who needs that shit we've got ipads.
