Clearly. But do you think you should be able to actively pursue someone, and then shoot them if they fight back? I don't think that's self-defense by anyone's definition. And the 911 call Zimmerman made before the incident, requesting permission to pursue him, in which he was advised not to... proves it.
If anyone was to be shot in self-defense, it should have been Zimmerman.
If you pursue me, and try to detain me, and you're clearly not a police officer... I'm fighting back. And I'll have the right to...
