The only way I know of besides trying to sue them or pay the extortion money (then three more copycat sites usually pop up wanting you to pay more) is to seed the Google results with a lot of false hits for the information which is out there. Make some information legitimate and half incorrect. The idea being to bury the really embarrassing stuff a couple pages deep where no casual person will see it and even if they do they won't know whether it's true. Or just don't give a shit about it.
