I haven't had too many that were really that awkward, but a few that stand out.

1. When I first started I accidentally put the name of my site in the Payee slot when I signed up for a sponsor so my first check from them came made out to Extreme Anal Links. I deposited it via ATM and the bank never said a thing.

2. I was out with a group of people. We were at a comedy club waiting for the show to start. One of the guys there worked with a friend of mine and ran a part time limo business on the side. He is talking to me about building him a better website. When he asks what kind of sites I build I tell him different types, but I do some work in adult. At the top of his lungs he exclaims, "Adult? Like with dicks!?" Everyone in the room stopped what they were doing and looked at us. I started laughing and he turned bright red.

3. I had a checking account at Washington Mutual bank. One day I get a letter from them telling me that they have good information that a check I deposited is going to bounce. I was heading out to run some errands so I stop by the bank to see what is going on. I show the letter to the teller and she goes and gets the manager who pulled me aside and said in a very hushed voice, "That check is from an adult company. My experience is that most of them are shady and bounce checks." The check in question was one from a company I had been promoting for a while and never had a problem. I explained to him that about 90% of the checks I deposited were from adult companies and I have not bounced one yet. He then says in a much louder voice. "We didn't know that when you opened the account. Had we known it was porn money we might not have opened the account." Everyone in the bank (it was small) looked at us. I just shrugged and told him I would be back tomorrow to close the account and remove my smut money from their precious bank.
