The ethical thing to do was always to payout to the affiliates any past due money when closing or when selling if the new owners aren't going to keep the program running. This is the way it is supposed to be done and it's how real businesses do things. But collectively we failed to demand that and it's now to the point where we don't expect to get paid. The same for wanting to close your account and have any money due sent to you regardless of the minimum.
