It depends on the geo, type of traffic (mobile, desktop), quality and volume (which will impact the demand from advertisers).
So basically there is no perfect answer. IMO you should use your ad spots to test different solutions and make your own opinion based on your traffic.
Or... you can wait for sales reps and trolls to bullshit you.
