From reading the replies here it sounds like half the people on this forum have no idea how health insurance works or what the purpose of having insurance in general is. I mean the government forces all drivers to have auto insurance by law and under penalty and many people still often refuse to get it. Never mind health, life, homeowner, renter, business or other common insurances that are often elective.
I guess that's why we constantly see all these pleas for donations by regular people out in the world as well as people in porn via Facebook who suffered accidents or surprise illnesses and sick children or lost homes or property due to floods and other natural disasters and lost tools and equipment.
Also widows or widowers with minor dependents left behind broke when a spouse dies with no money to even pay for the funeral. Business owners that have to fold up shop and lay people off because of burglaries or accidents.
It's endless the amount of times I see people pleading for help and donations on Facebook and forums because they didn't plan ahead or foolishly thought that nothing bad could happen to them. They're called accidents for a reason people! Anyone could get cancer tomorrow. If you have failed to plan for a rainy day or unforeseen circumstances you have planned to fail!
