Since the late 90's Yahoo has positioned itself as a "global media company", whereas Google has focused on search as its core product since the beginning.

Also more traffic doesn't necessarily translate to more money. No medium can come close to the targeting that search provides. Yahoo would need several times the amount of traffic across its network as Google to even start to compare revenue.
