You suggest the adult industry is somewhere that facts mostly don't apply, like that's some kind of exception. Really though, there are very few places capital F facts apply.

I think everyone understands that there are degrees of certainty and informedness that accrue to bits of information like their provenance. How was the information gathered, how were the assumptions made, what sanity checking was used, is this a reliable first person source, how many links down the chain of provenance are we, etc.

Now that you mention it, I guess some people here actually don't understand that stuff.

Either way everyone uses "facts" as shorthand for "item of information that I happen to BELIEVE" rather than the more scientific rigorous use of the word.

Really, one can know very few things with much certainty. Not sure where you are going with this.
