The oldest 'cold case' to go to trial in US history, the 1957 murder of a 7 year old girl in small town Illinois where doors were unlocked and the murder of a child didn't seem possible. The killer's mother on her death bed came clean and identified her son as the culprit.
There are some troubling legal issues involved with trying a case long after most involved are dead but I'd have convicted him if I was judge or jury member.
