you will get same responses as the site that big never uses off the shelf (readymade) scripts...
they might even start with readymade scripts but when site starts to grow you need to modify , more modify the script as per your requirement and there a point comes when the original code looks small and the modifications are more, scaled to hundreds of servers with caching and load-balancing ad managing . and many more things...
