Sounds like the Police did not respond to the initial gang fight adequately, and Ray Widstrand was an unfortunate victim, whatever the circumstances.
Given that the thread title was dripping with race bait, and absolutely disrespectful to the victim (the OP calls the person in a coma a "White libtard"), I would say that the OP and several others in this thread don't care as much care about this victim of senseless violence, than they do in using it to promote their own twisted form of bigotry and hatred.
No surprise that the OP cited a WND (White Noise Disinformation) article, which rather quickly devolved from false concern for a victim of senseless violence, into a shallow sales pitch for a book by a WND writer.
WND is, and has always been, nothing more than a clearinghouse for right-wing nutjob propaganda.
Even dumber than the lame book sales pitch (posing as a news article), is the unscientific survey at the end (yes, I read it all the way), which asks, "What can be done to stop onslaught of black violence in US?"
One of the answers, and the #1 response was, "Get Barack Obama out of the White House".
That's unsurprising considering WND's readership, who are the only ones that would bother to answer a survey asking such loaded, biased questions, in the first place (or even take the fear-mongering WND seriously for that matter, lol).
Anyway, I read several other mainstream actual news sources that have reported that the police have apprehended 4 suspects so far in the beating of Ray Widstrand. If the DA's investigation determines that a hate crime has been committed, then I would expect those charges to be added onto whatever charges the defendants already stand accused of.
Yesterday the AP reported the 4 arrests in this case nationally, but for some reason it was not reported in the WND article dated today. Guess the WND is too busy trying to sell right-wing race-baiting books than to report this important development in the case.
