I enjoyed Oblivion. The weak point is the script. This is the directors second feature film.
The sound design was incredible, and not just the music. It was worth seeing in the theater for this reason alone.
As far as Tom Cruise goes, he's the best actor in the world so this really isn't a debatable point, but even if you don't agree, the movie is still enjoyable if you're looking for a two hour escape. I liked Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher better.
If you're a sci-fi fan, Oblivion is worth checking out. If you're not, it's a 50/50. I prefer going to the theater to watch sci-fi films. If you do too and you're only going to see one movie this summer/fall, I might hold off and see Elysium or the new Star Trek. But if you have the time, interest, and money, go see them all!
