Let's look at all the Playmates of 2012 so we can compare them to the 1970 ones.
Other than the 1970 makeup artist specifically using less base to show off the girls freckles for that "California Girl" who has been basking in the sun look..I think the photography and the girls are on par (and no...contrary to some posts in this thread, there are NO tattoos or "hookers I want to grudge fuck"):
