Having surname.com is quite important for email. My family and wife's family both own the respective .coms thanks to me and everyone has their own email. Very easy to say name John Doe, email

Irrespective of thr supossed power status that comes with
[email protected] (that for me has long disappeared), for me it's now far important to be in full control of spam management and email privacy than anything else.
Also, I will never make any use of doe.com as a web address but that isn't to say my son, daughter, randsn/daughter, nephew, niece etc will not.... There's already a big multinational that wants my doe.com domain, but they will never get it. In any case doe.com is in the will and dealt with!
