Sony Vegas editing advice/question.

I have very basic knowledge of Sony Vegas, using it mainly for simple editing. I can't seem to find the solution to my particular issue, so I thought I'd ask here.

Background story:
The project I'm working on requires sliding text. Instead of using the built-in text options, I made a colorful graphic in Photoshop. The reason I went the Photoshop route is because the scrolling text features in SVP don't have the "look" I'd prefer. The graphic I made in PS is a horizontal strip, including a logo, text and "call to action". My intention is to animate this graphic like a scrolling marquee for the duration of the video clip (repeating itself seamlessly if necessary).

The Issue:
When I import the graphic to the timeline, it is shrunk way down in the preview window. When I try to make it bigger (using video event, pan/crop), the top and bottom of the graphic end up getting masked out. I can see that this is due to zooming in/out. I've changed the size of the native file, but can't seem to get a good fit for the graphic. How can I modify the size of this graphic to fit the frame?

If worse comes to worse, I've considered going with the simple text options, but I know the project will look unpolished. I'd like to avoid that if possible. I also own Adobe Premier Pro (from CS) and have considered trying the project in there, but I have even less knowledge of how AP works :-/

Thanks for your help!

PS:
I'm using Vegas Pro 12.0 (64 bit) at the moment.
