What gives these men the right to enforce Sharia Law in these areas, if any? Are the local police departments ill-equipped to regulate these Islamic militias from enforcing their own sets of laws on the public?
There is a Shia Islam mosque in my neighborhood, but those dudes only keep to themselves and sweep up the sidewalks outside the mosque.
If these Sharia Laws are being implemented by muslims in the area who is to say everyone must abide?
This is the first I have heard of this happening, so please excuse my questions. Do you have any other information on this matter? I am quite intrigued.
