The govt. just wanted to get their hands on his money so they could give some of it to their bail bondsman buddies. (police, judges, bail bondsmen and all officers of the court all work together 5 days a week).
If I had been in his shoes I would have kept that money hid too. Obviously he can't go to work anymore, and he needs money to pay his attorneys. He has a wife and bills to pay.
Instead the govt. seized his money. I don't think that's right at all. But then, I'm no fan of big govt.

Guess he should have thought about that before he killed that kid. Besides that, it wasnt like he had that money before, it was donated to him through his website after the fact.
