I see what you men but still. There are states with a very different states of education. E.g. NY vs Kansas. So if we will sum up all the voices directly (one voice per a citizen) for a whole country (not for states), we'll get a way different result.

E.g. Let's consider that 65% citizens of Kansas have voted for Bush Jr, it will be considered that the whole state has voted for him (i.e. 100%). But wait, where are those 35% that gave their voices to Gore? This is not fair.
