I find the meetings way more relaxed (again maybe that's just over here), and big book bashers as a bit 'Taliban' imo. Though horses for courses, different strokes for different folks and all that of course

i've forgotten that part of the aa history, but as my last sponsor way back when used to ask me when i got back from a meeting, "how much step work did ya get done at the meeting tonite?" hahahahha.
and it's true here as well, most people in aa sober up and not do any real step work. it's super you have worked all the steps, we used to figure about 90% in our area did not.
i always enjoyed going to meetings, i liked the comraderie a lot, it's always nice being around people that are like yourself, know that and can be that.
