If women want equality in the workplace and the culture in general, the idiotic alimony laws need to be changed. A man or woman pays the bills for a non-working partner in return for support -- emotional, sexual, around the house, whatever is needed.
If you quit your regular job, you don't keep getting paid forever. Why should someone who quits her wife job keep getting paid indefinitely?
If someone stood by you to put you through school or whatever, alimony should last as long as it takes her to get to the same educational level. And that's it.
