I would NOT do for ukraine or philippines of course, where jail and/or bribing police is the only alternative to hiding from police.
Further, in places where it is 100% legal and they pay taxes, photos of the studio in a web site it is common to attract more models.
As an example look at the 3d virtual tour of the 2 locations (bucharest + galati) of the following studio providing my site with lots of models:

http://hotcamstudio.ro/tur-virtual-galati/
http://hotcamstudio.ro/tur-virtual-bucuresti/

Showing it all this way (including outside of building and nearby places) it let model think this is a reliable, legal, serious, paying company. Even to be proud to work with.
Of course you don't do this in Ukraine or the Philippines - or even USA
You are right about the pictures, It helps to give the models confidence that its not some slavery/rape deal. Actually I have a guy coming this week to take some better pictures to use in my recruitment process. I love hotcamstudios site and really debated on going that style with individual rooms but went curtains to cut costs and time. maybe in the future.

Oh and i took the chicken pictures as a joke and thought it was funny, actually put the one from AsianDivaGirlsWebDude on rotation in my backgrounds.
