If I were to fuck with them, what I'd do, given they're almost always emailing about expiring domains, is say something like "I'd like to spend up to $1,000 on it, but I see I can backorder it through SnapNames (or whatever other backorder service). I'm not sure if I should follow your link or just go to SnapNames - what should I do?"

Then just keep making them think you're toiling over where to buy the domain - SnapNames or their link and make them come up with all sorts of bullshit/excuses as to why you should buy it through their link. Keep doing it even after the auction is over for the name and it's no longer expiring.
