I have a number of my own sites but also have a Tumblr presence for the above reasons, it's not about just getting a free blog, I'd guess anyone still in this industry is long past that point by now.
I look on pornblogspace and see 99.999999% terrible spam blogs by people who don't know what they're doing, so any worth as an actual network is nil.
IMO pretty much apples & oranges.
