Don't get yourself thrown in jail for this fucker. Don't make adrenilin induced decisions.
You'll beat his ass.... they'll arrest you, then he is free to fuck with your family while you are away. Get the restraining order and have him picked up if he bothers you. If you have a restraining order on him, at least you will have somewhat of a valid reason to beat his ass if he comes near you after that.
