The Las Vegas Sun has expressed an interest in hiring my girlfriend so I am trying to pick up some information about the paper and the area.
Mostly I am wondering about the area. The job would apparently be located in Henderson, NV and I am seeing a lot of housing there, too. I know absolutely nothing about the areas around Las Vegas so anything you can tell me about Henderson and around Henderson (Green Valley?) would be helpful. Is it a generally decent area? Are there any towns or neighborhoods I should be looking into or avoiding specifically? What's the general cost of living there?
Also, if you know anything about the newspaper itself, clue me in. Is it popular? Respected? It's pretty hard to get information like that from way over here in Cleveland
Normally my girlfriend and I could spend a little more time doing our own research but the paper may be flying her out for an interview as early as Wednesday.
