Two days ago my girlfriend's cat tried to attack my new Rottweiler. What saved the cat's life is that I kicked it across the room and grabbed the dog. Not kick as in field goal from the 50 yard line, but kick as in instep of the foot against the cat and more or less "throw" it out of the way with my foot. If I hadn't have done that, the cat would be dead right now.
