Those girls are there on their own free will and work a schedule like any other job. All of the commercialized prostitution in Thailand is that way. It's the tiny shacks and karaoke bars that generally only service Thai men that traffic girls (often underage) the most. It is no coincidence that is also where the bulk of the HIV is, along with the locals brothels along the trucker routes.
So these NGO groups test girls from these types of shit holes that have incredibly high HIV rates then release reports that say 50% of Thai prostitutes are HIV+, when in reality they only tested a small group of girls that almost always come from the high risk, usually trafficked, locals only places, which are often owned by a policemen, someone in military, or sometimes a local politician. It is also said that something like 96% - 98% of all the prostitution in Thailand is for Thai men only (these types of places), which will really fuck your mind up when you see how many prostitutes there are servicing foreigners.
A "fish tank" or "fish bowl" is where girls sit on the other side of the glass, all wear a number. It's like you are looking into a fish bowl, hence the name. The customers sit on the other side, just like you see in the video. They tell the papasan or mamasan what number they want, and up they go unless they get a drink first to chat a bit. You usually get an hour and a half, she baths you, services you, cleans up and does it all over again when she is picked again. Some of the places in Bangkok have incredibly hot girls, Thai Penthouse magazine models and such, and the service is top of the line. Of course you pay more for the best, but the eye candy and quality of service is worth it.
