I was injured at work in 1999, unable to repair the damage I was placed on permeate disability and offered social security, food stamps etc... with a child in grade school at that time $1000 a month or whatever really didn't seem like much of an option... by the end of 2000 I was down to nothing with no savings, no health ins... nothing really... the lawsuit from the work injury settled, paid out somewhere around 35k if I remember correctly...'
I emailed every porn site on the net I could find, stating that I was a photographer asking how much the sites paid for images... with a few black and white nudes scanned and attached to the email as examples of my work. at that point I had been teaching myself photography for about 2 years... shooting nudes and headshots...
however I wasn't actually a photographer... I had one Nikon F. 1, 105mm lens and 1, 58 mm lens and a set of novatron strobes... for those of you unfamiliar with cameras the Nikon F is a completely manual camera. doesn't even have a battery in it, the lenses are only manual focus.
one site answered my email, telling me the prices and explaining how to find models from ads. I would place an ad, models would stop by, I would take a polaroid, scan that image and then email the image to the site for approval on the model. if I approved I would bring the model back, shoot 'x' amount of film on the models and send the film off for processing... my first month in the 'business' I made $600...
been at it ever since... BTW we didn't shoot video back then and no agency would deal with me... the cocksuckers would hang up if I called....
