When you look at the total federal tax revenue by state, collected by the irs you are including individual and corporate dollars. They are mixed. So ????

why does california get credit for toyota usa paying the feds from their corporate headquarters in california. Why does each resident of california get their per capita revenue figure bolstered by the tax on profit from every toyota vehicle sold in the rest of the country?

Why do new york residents get to divide per capita tax collected on every penny declared as profit from investment bank/stock brokerages on transaction across the country just because their corp headquarters pay from wall st?

Why does procter and gamble out of ohio up the percentage of their residents from tax collected on consumer products sold in other states? Proctor and gamble probably has a half dozen products in every house in every state but pay from corporate offices in cincinnati ohio.

Think where most big tax paying corporations are located ?.. Look at those states on the list now and you'll see why the numbers are incorrect. Poor guy in new mexico driving a toyota has just increased the per capita numbers for some guy in california.
