Interesting post Mutt.

When we speak on ICQ or in e-mail and do business together you're a nice guy. But now I'm a "fucking idiot" because I disagree with you. I never called you any names. We were having a discussion about things other than ourselves I thought.

Here on GFY us Canadians are outnumbered, because well, in life there's 10 Americans for every 1 Canadian, it only stands to reason. We deal with a good amount of abuse for just existing.

We get your American TV channels, your news, your companies coming here, and we travel a lot there. We enjoy our independence, and truly don't mind to not be part of your union.

You know that comparing home prices is an exercise in futility, because you've just gone through the biggest housing crash in recent world history. I guess you're proud of all the value that was wiped off the table? I guess it's *bad* that our homes have retained their value somehow? You're looking at it from the POV of the buyers only, and not the sellers...

It's true that home prices here are out of control, especially in Vancouver which has seen some correction this year. Home prices in the GTA where I live continue to climb.

All I'm saying is that for me and my family, we're happy to be Canadians living in this beautiful city with low crime, low violence, high prosperity, high prices, etc. It's clean, it's safe, and people get along with each other from all backgrounds.

It's not all roses, but it's better than most from my experience.

The time it takes to get an MRI? I have no idea. I'm fairly sure if you gave most Americans the choice of an expensive MRI now or a free MRI with a bit of a wait, that 90% would choose the free route. The 10% are either rich or very in need.

I do know that we prioritize for people who need one immediately.

I also know that doctors, lawyers, judges - they don't get special treatment. They wait in line like the rest of us.

I can guess that your MRI machines are more available because there's less people willing to pay to get one, and doctors aren't giving them out to anyone who needs one - only those who can and will pay for one... Here the doctors do most every test you need, because why wouldn't they.

But anyway. Both systems have pluses and minuses. I'm stuck in my system without a choice, you're stuck in yours. Both of us had 0 say in the matter.

When I drive to work I see a lot of fancy cars on the road, many of whom can't really afford them. But with leasing and financing and hoards people who define themselves by the opinions of strangers, there's a lot of nice cars here. Make of that what you will. When I re-read my original post it does seem a bit over the line, my apologies. We have lots of Toyota Tercels, Chevy Geos and Sunfires too.

I love the USA, and I love my country too. There's room for both.
