- Opening is a ripoff of Indiana Jones. Guy is obsessed with Spielberg so no surprise here.
- There's a scene at the end of Act 1 that's a ripoff of The Godfather 3. Similarities too overwhelming to overlook.
- The rest of the movie is all action. Set piece after set piece. Big things and explosions.
- The 'ticking time bomb' plot device is used all to often. After the 400th time it's used there is no urgency anymore.
- Guy who plays Khan stole the show. If he's back for #3 than I'm in
- Few plot holes, few cases of lazy writing. A scene in the beginning is put in there for no other reason than to set up the end. And a character is conveniently put away in order for another character to shine and return a favor. And it's done in the laziest possible way.
All in all it was a good take. Looking forward to see what can be done with Star Wars now. Hope it's more personality and less action though.
7 out of 10 from this movie snob
Edit: Maybe ripoff is too strong of a word. I'll say it was "inspired"
