I never understand this argument. Junkfood is more expensive than raw ingredients. A bag of chips is several dollars and not filling. Cookies are cheaper to make than buy. Fruit and vegetables in season are really not that bad. There is always a protein source on sale, usually pork or chicken and often beef. Eggs are two dollars or less a dozen. Purchase in bulk and everything is even cheaper.
The catch? You actually have to cook!
