Can you imagine a free thinker like Ernest Hemingway for instance being stifled by this kind of bullshit at an early age? And how that could have stunted his growth as a human being and writer?

People wonder why there are no artists (music, literature, painting, etc.) with the scope of talent and vision as there used to be.
Well, my answer would be that we coddle young adults and treat them like their five years old and ruin any sense of individualism and creativity they have before they ever get a chance to reach adulthood.

I hope that's okay with you that I'm concerned about that and would like to see our fear driven and suppressive society change for the better.
