I'm finally replacing a 7 year old MacBook Pro for a newer model. I put this one through some use and still runs better than most laptops that friends have.
I'm in between three models, two are retina display, one is not. The non-retina one I found a GREAT deal on, but is it worth the extra to get it? Closest Apple store is 45 minutes from me and don't have the time to take a drive to check them out anytime soon.
The retina ones are models
ME664LL/A (2012) and
MC975LL/A (OLDER). I read some people having problems with the retina models, but I will mainly be using this for things like Excel, website maintenance, etc., rarely for any photo and video editing at all. Price differnece between the two is about is $400, so not sure if it's worth it.
The non-retina display is
MD104LL/A which is the same price as the MC975LL/A.
Is it worth it for retina? I've checked them out briefly a while ago and noticed a difference, but for watching movies more than anything, which I don't really do. If so, is it worth it to get the new model for $400 more than the others?
Thanks
