when people use the fact that there are atrocities happening daily overseas as a way to diminish what has happened here, its just an attempt to appear intellectually superior. many have become desensitized to what happens in countries like iraq, afganistan, somolia because stuff like that is happening all the time and has been for decades if not centuries.
