In NYC for example, there are so many cameras tied into the NYPD system that they can literally search for 'Person in red top 5'2 to 5'8 near X and Y street from Q to Z Avenue during Date Range and Time Range' to have the system provide a photo or video of every person matching the search from every 'traffic cam' and other device tied into to system.
The FBI doesn't need advice from
[email protected] or direct access to images on his twitter account to get the data they need...
