At the end of the last ice age there was a flood that was so great that it literally changed the landscape of the Northwestern United States. Fly over some time and look out the window and see a "rippling" of prairie lands that look exactly how sands ripple by the ocean's coastal edge.

The indigenous tribes all have flood myths too but it is also well established as scientific fact that there was a cataclysmic event that occurred when essentially a wall of glacial ice broke in Canada.
