What does rare earth mining have to do with electricity?

I've clearly understood advantages of electric cars and it is a revolution like it was when combustion engine became available. Even If I am big car lover and it is kind of my hobby, electric cars are future. No gasoline, no pollution, no oils, no transmission,no moving parts, no chains, no spark plugs, no filters.....and you are still faster then most sport cars, going 4.something seconds if you want to race. Not to mention cheaper driving.

That's the point of my post. An $80k electric car cost can be had for the same price as a $50k Camaro.

i guess one of expecting a lot less breakdowns, yes?
how much.. does it cost to fix electric cars these days?

I don't know. But if you think about it, an Electric Car as no Gas pump, no Cylinders, no push rods, no radiator, no exhaust system, no catalytic converter, no timing belt, no carbruator or fuel injection system etc so there's actually alot less to break.

Kind of ironic don't you think?

Yes. I love performance cars, V8's, Camaro's and Firebirds, yet I hate the ancient technology of gasoline engines. I love high tech and I want the future I dreamed of as a kid to be in my grasp. To say I'm conflicted is putting it mildly.
I also think it's an interesting case study. I am a prime consumer for both of these cars. What are they doing to win my business? Intradesting....
