You like to put words in my mouth. No, I did not say I want "government employees screening citizens for mental capacity". It's very simple - When you go to see a head shrink or get put on any kind of medication that might affect your mental health, you get flagged as ineligible to own a firearm. That should very basic.
Likewise, if you get arrested for any kind of violent crime (assault, etc) you should also be flagged as ineligible.
I have a friend who is on medication which causes seizures, and his doctor had his driver's license suspended. Common sense.
