Your interpretation makes one wonder why the US fought a Civil War (largely over the issue of slavery), or why Congress passed the 15th Amendment ["The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude."] (1870), and the Voting Rights Act, which eliminated most of the Jim Crow laws that were also used to deny people of color equal voting rights (1965).

so what? you indignant that they made their wives not work and stay home with the kids too? that's the way the world was at that time... you think white Americans invented slavery in 1750, went to Africa and loaded up? seriously... I would expect that kind of stuff from a high school kid...
