What they could have and should have done do not matter after the fact. Whatever the reason that day, the US skies were left defenseless. And I refuse to believe those in command of the hijackers didn't have prior knowledge of this somehow. It was all just too perfect to be a random coincidence.

Shit happens and anyone can be caught with their pants down. It happened at Pearl Harbor, it happened in New York, and unfortunately it can and probably will happen again sometime in the future. I hope it doesn't of course, but logic says the unexpected will happen when we least expect it.
