The US gov refuses to spend a couple hundred million on a better telescope to track near-Earth objects, yet has no problem funding the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, which cost way more than the total funding of NASA since it's inception in 1958. People really should stop playing with guns and use the money for more important stuff
