Lots of people I know did that too, especially when first starting out. I used hot lights (metal halide) for years, so I can relate (always loved when models complained about the heat, while they are naked with a fan on them, and the lights are 10' away...meanwhile I'm sweating my ass office right next to the lights.
Life is way better with cool lights (daylight balanced fluorescent or LED).
I rarely shoot in a studio, although I had one a few years back, and I am seriously thinking about setting up a new studio.
