I don't want to be Conspiracy Guy but shit like this may force Playboy's hand and let Manwin buy their way out of the Playboy deal the Wall Street Journal reported Manwin was anxious to renegotiate. Tarnishing Playboy's brand could be seen as a tactic. One thing I know is Playboy doesn't want those websites and tv channels dumped in their lap but at what cost to their brand, which is all Playboy really has.
